R.U.N. is doing fine re:membership. Of course people are still a bit shy to
post, but it's no problem. No issue of RUN for a week, i know! Lots of work,
and i had to finish clubland. Well i have now made the most complete raveclubs
listing ever! It is far more complete than what Voir and Mirror published.
BTW, you may have noticed that Voir is now available in english: Hour.
It is not a translation of Voir however.

Also, i'm still working on musicland, a list of record stores in Montreal, but
also from Toronto, Boston, New-York etc... If you have listings for these
cities, i'd like to have them. And speaking of music, check in record stores
for the Messiah album (their first). I have lots of their singles (there is
no law, temple of dreams, you're going insane, i feel love...) and they kick!
Check also Digital Orgasm album. In singles, speed racer (alpha team) is
available domestically, and so is I feel you by Depeche Mode. Get the CD or
vinyl with the Babylon mix. DM doing trance!

News from england: acid is more and more popular (once again). They have
adopted +8 records from London, Ontario as the leading label.

News from Big Life records: The Orb tour is canceled. They would have been
in Boston and in Toronto, but no Montreal date. Anyway, it is postponed
indefinitely.

This friday on my show, Road Warrior is going to be happy, i'll have some 808
state from their "new" album.I've had it for 3 weeks, but forgot it home twice. 
22pm, techno part at 23pm.

No raves. Something coming for the second week of march.

Clubland:
---------

Angel's, 3606 Saint-Laurent, 282-9944. Techno or house with 90210 type of
crowd. Nice place, but "the volume is loud" as apotheosis would put it. 

Backstreet, 382 Mayor, 987-7671. Tuesday nights it's called Paradise Garage, a
name and logo they stole from the brits. House and techno. Rock the other days.

Big Bang, 1400 Montcalm, 521-5317. Friday nights have some techno but mostly
top 40 and some hip hop. The techno-rave appelation is fraudulous.

Blue Dog, 3550 St-Laurent. Strange music choices. They play mostly techno,
house and hip hop, but will play rock when asked!? I'll give them a 2nd chance.

Le Beat, 1279 Saint-Hubert, 845-8242. Ex-La Fac. They are reopenning march 11.
From the name, i can expect more techno, and pray for a good DJ. Very hi tech.

Le Tunnel, 2049 Saint-Denis. House only. If you like masters at work, it's
a place to check. No techno however. Thursday to sunday. Chill out room.

Ozone, 2015-A de la Montagne, 845-7060. Definitely techno, but fridays and
saturdays the cover is 6$. Chill out room and blacklight mania.

Royal lounge, 251 Sainte-Catherine est, 848-0302. Farley is not a DJ there, but
the manager. House and (eech) 70s disco. Expensive and cozy.

Station C, 1450 Sainte-Catherine est, 523-0064. 4 rooms for different styles.
They have so many events, it's better to call. Gay and straight (KOX).

Subway, 5408 Cote des neiges, 344-4455. House and some techno on wednesday
nights. Rap or reggae the other days...


If you ask me, i would go once to Big Bang and Royal to check the decors, but
with the current DJs, these are not places i would frequent. I'll try to check
out tuesday at Backstreet, wednesday at Subway, Tunnel on thursday and Ozone on
saturday this week. My best bet seems to be Ozone... Foufounes Electriques
have reoppened. Beer 25 cents cheaper, but no techno grave nights it seems 8(.
