I have not had the time to answer each one of you individually, so i do it here: welcome to RUN. Ozone: well 1 person showed up... I got there at 10:45. No lineup. A guy outside check cards of 2 girls. I get in. Two person in front of me, waiting to enter, but the doorman wont let them in. They ask to see the manager. He comes and say: "guys i know you, but it's only the regulars tonight. Just the best clients cause there is a private party and the place is full.". Yeah, right. I get in and the manager says to me "bonsoir monsieur" and shake my hand. Do i know him??. Anyway, once in (after paying mucho dollars), the place is mostly empty (30 people). So i wait in the lounge till 11:15. Nobody from RUN. At 11:30 the place is filling up rapidly. Lame house, and lame people. Only interesting thing: the neon dancers. At 12, again in the longe. Somebody finally comes to me. Mike (and his girlfriend) and agrees that the place is dull. At 12:45 i was going back home. Verdict: dont go there unless you like Di Salvio and people with an attitude. It has changed for the worst since i went there... So, Subway down, Ozone down, and i just heard that Francois who was working as a DJ at Tunnel got fired, so that'll probably not a place to be. Not much left, heh! I'm again modifying clubland because of that. (Francois at Tunnel is *not* me.) Music: At Inbeat they still have some copies of the Rephlex analog bubblebath #3 by Aphex twin. I've been hooked on a song from this EP for a month. Somebody please turn off my turntable! Another recommendation: buy the 808 state album gorgeous in the limited vinyl format and you get a bonus 12". Also, check out Rotterdam #18 and #19, and the new stuff from Kickin. In CD, get the messiah album. I also recommend Yellow Magic Orchestra reconstructed (hi-tech/no crime) with some 808, LFO, Altern 8, Orb mixes etc... of YMO. Good buy at 15.99$. Last, if you can get Technodrome 2 at 19$ or 20$, i would definitely recommend it, particularly if you dont have much stuff in the Speedy J or Open mind style (132.6 bpm and 131.9 bpm). Original version of move my body (Altern 8), Nana (nuke) and earless man song (shazz) also on this compilation. In all, 15 songs, 78 mins. bpm from 126 to 150. BTW, ROT 19 is Brooklyn's Joey Beltram (who works in Belgium, and records on a Nederlandse label??). Rave: I know Solstice rave is on the 27th. Mine will be on the 26th. I dont see a problem. Anyway, raves are most of the time saturdays. I find that a bit suburbian... So friday march 26th: tell are your friends, it will be a musical nirvana. 3 djs, stunning fxs, smart bar, fruits, rave stuff and surprises. If people who want to help can leave me their PHONE NUMBERS ASAP. What do you think of the name: "Rave en couleur", like my rave list. De/From: "Peter (P.) Barszczewski" Sujet/Subject: re:R.U.N. #16 Howdy, I will try to make it to Ozone on Saturday at 11:00 as well. There is also a "gallery" party at Stornaway (on Bleury, south of Rene Levesque) ... the music usually more house/hip-hop/dance hall, but the parties are fun. Francois, I can make you copy of our rave phone list for promoting your up-coming rave. If you need *any* help then let me know. I don't know if you saw my "How to Throw a Rave" post in alt.rave, but I learned a lot from [Missed it. But i saw your imitation of a drum machine: ssschhhwooochhh booong 8). I'll call you about the list and other stuff.] our last one, and could give you a few pointers regarding organization and running it. I have an old beaten up PC which could be used to store the invitation list. I am in the process of converting it into a "rave-machine"(tm) ... lots of dayglo paint and fun furrrrrr. REQUEST: if anyone has any good phone-list database type software (for ancient IBM PC) then let me know ... it's for the "rave-machine"(tm). All I need is alphabetized name, with phone number and a "comments" section. It would be great if it could work with a mouse. I know the InterChill people are throwing a rave at the end of the month, but I don't think they have the location confirmed yet. They also want to keep the location secret until 24hrs before the show. [Ed note: That's Solstice] The only other news I can think of is that the next issue of Trance 5000 will be out in a week or so. This is mini-mono's rave magazine for the Montreal area. I have a few old issues and its not too bad. I will talk to the man and see if he has any soft copies we can distribute. [Ed note: if you can get me his phone #, that would be cool.] Regards, -- Peter A. Barszczewski ( * (barsz@bnr.ca) ) ~|~ peace. Bell-Northern Research, Ltd. [Ed note: actually it may be tuesday that i'll distribute Rave en couleur. Also the rave will be on the 26th of march, a friday.] I assume you are aware of the rave scheduled for March 27 that is going under the name Soltice. [Ed note: i know. I dont see a problem of doing it the 26th.] Thomas ---= FIN/THE END =---
