Thank you for sending me R.U.N. every week. I have some questions about rave. I never been to a rave before. Is there a dress code? What are we suppose to wear anyway? Are there any beer there? If you can answer my questions, I would appreciate it. Thank You! = Well, I'm happy you enjoy this electronic zine. Now, regarding raves and the dress code, well there is none really. Basically it's your logic that will impose some things, but not the rave itself. What i mean is that you are going to a rave to dance, meet people, have fun etc... So you need something that feel comfortable to dance a few hours in. I am sure a few subscribers will give you some suggestions. Also, there are some stores specialised in rave gear (based on grunge gear). Personally i think that you should wear rave clothes only if you would feel comfortable wearing them any day. In any case, nobody really care about how people are dressed which is one of the reason the vibe is so cool in a rave. If somebody you dont know comes to you and offer you a pop or give you a hug, dont be surprised :) Last point: beer. Raves in clubs usually have beer, while in non club events (particularly smaller events) they do not serve beer. The drinks served are usually smart drinks, like fast blast, intellex, renew-you, rise'n'shine etc... Some are pretty lame (fast blast, rise'n'shine), some are very good to give you extented energy thru the night without caffeine (renew-you) and finally some are ideal to help focus, to look within (intellex). Some people may also come to you and offer you "X". X is also known as MDMA. Dont buy any. Now before somebody jumps at me and say, "what about freedom of choice?", let's just say that you dont know for sure what is in there. Is it only MDMA? At what dosage? etc... I've heard of horror stories of dealers mixing anti- depressants with MDMA (very dangerous) and i've seen people overdose on some supposed ecstacy (X). This is a big subject and i will go in depth in a sub- sequent issue. I'll have some expert advice, some users comments, and will include some bibliography on mdma. NOTE: I do not support or condone drug use, i just give informations. Hmmm.... now that i think of it, i've been to a huge number of raves and nobody has ever offered me X (of course a lot of people know me, that may be the reason) so it's not as bad as i may make it look...
